At EcoCraft Outdoor Living, sustainability begins long before a finished product reaches your garden, patio, school, restaurant or commercial space.
Behind every bench, picnic table, bar set and outdoor structure is a journey that starts with material that may once have been considered waste.
Where the Journey Begins
Across South Africa, plastic waste is collected, baled and sorted before entering the recycling process.
The material is thoroughly cleaned, washed and decontaminated before being broken down and processed into reusable material.
It is then melted and moulded into durable recycled plastic planks — the raw material from which many of our EcoCraft products are created.
This is the foundation of what we do.
We take material that has already served one purpose and help give it another.
From Plank to Product
Once the recycled plastic planks have been produced, the EcoCraft manufacturing journey begins.
Each design is carefully planned and measured, with specialised cutting lists created to ensure the individual components are prepared accurately.
The material is then transported to the Eastern Cape, where it is cut, assembled and manufactured into finished outdoor products.
The result is a range of practical, robust and low-maintenance outdoor solutions created from recycled plastic material.
From outdoor furniture and picnic tables to commercial, agricultural and recreational applications, every product represents another opportunity to keep useful material in circulation for longer.
What “Eco” Means to Us
For EcoCraft, sustainability is more than a label.
It is about understanding where our material comes from, how it is processed, what it becomes and how long that finished product can continue serving a useful purpose.
It is a journey of recovery, recycling, manufacturing and craftsmanship.
Most importantly, it is a story of transformation.
Waste can become a resource.
A discarded material can become a durable plank.
A plank can become a piece of furniture.
And that piece can become part of a home, school, restaurant, park, business or community space.
Proudly South African
We are proud that the EcoCraft journey is rooted in South Africa.
From the collection and processing of recycled material to the production of the planks and the final manufacturing of our outdoor products, there are many hands, processes and businesses involved before a finished EcoCraft piece reaches its destination.
That is a story worth telling.
It is also why we believe transparency matters.
Customers should be able to ask what a product is made from, where the material comes from and what processes sit behind an environmental claim.
We welcome those conversations.
See EcoCraft in Person
Through our partnership with Farmyard Nursery in St Francis, customers can now experience selected EcoCraft products in person.
It is an opportunity to see the finish, feel the material and experience the quality firsthand.
But behind every finished piece is an even bigger story — one that started long before the final screw was fitted.
A story of South African material recovery.
A story of manufacturing.
A story of design.
And a story of giving plastic another purpose.
The magic is in knowing where it started — and seeing what it became.
